🤖 What is the ConnectED App?
ConnectED is a smart health screening app designed to help people understand whether they may be living with one or more often-overlooked conditions such as:
- Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS)
- Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)
- Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS)
It works by asking you a series of carefully selected questions and using an AI-supported algorithm to analyse your answers.

🧠 What does the AI do?
The ConnectED algorithm doesn’t diagnose conditions — instead, it looks for patterns in your responses that match known clinical symptoms and research-based criteria. Each question has a “weight,” meaning some answers count more than others depending on how strong the scientific evidence is.
It then gives you one of three results for each condition:
- Likely – Your responses strongly match the symptom pattern
- Possible – Some responses match
- Unlikely – Your responses don’t match the condition’s pattern
🔬 How was it built?
The ConnectED app was created by clinicians, researchers, and people with lived experience of hEDS, POTS, and MCAS. It’s backed by:
- International diagnostic guidelines
- Published peer-reviewed research
- Clinical observation and feedback
- Ongoing updates from new science
- Fatigue after standing or light activity
🔍 What makes ConnectED different?
- Designed with input from real patients and clinicians
- Focuses on pattern recognition – not just yes/no answers
- Built to reduce bias and speed up access to help
- Includes less invasive tests (e.g. MALMO, NASA Lean) for autonomic dysfunction instead of tilt table testing
⚖️ What are the limitations?
- ConnectED does not provide a medical diagnosis
- It does not replace your GP or specialist
- Results depend on your honest and accurate responses
🧾 What happens next?
If your result shows “Likely” or “Possible,” you’ll receive a report that you can take to your GP or specialist. This may help guide further investigation, testing, or referrals.
The report is designed in a way that helps doctors see the patterns you’re experiencing — especially if these have been missed before.
🔐 How is your data used?
Your answers are private. ConnectED only stores what’s necessary to generate your results. It does not share your personal information without your permission.
